Government of Canada Invests in the Port Moody Heritage Society
PORT MOODY, British Columbia, September 1, 2010 - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages and Member of Parliament (Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam), today announced funding for the Port Moody Heritage Society.

This funding will help the Society present the 9th annual Ioco Ghost Town Days Festival in Port Moody. The Festival, which runs from September 26 to October 3, 2010, will celebrate people and events from the past while including historical reenactments by 28 local musicians, artisans, and heritage performers. 

"Our Government supports festivals that celebrate our country's rich cultural heritage," said Minister Moore. "We are proud to partner with community organizations like the Port Moody Heritage Society to commemorate important historical events, which contribute so greatly to the local economy and the community's cultural vitality."
