Follow the 2010 Royal Tour to Canada on the Web
OTTAWA, June 29, 2010 - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today officially launched three social media channels for the 2010 Royal Tour to Canada of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. "These channels will allow Canadians to follow the tour and learn more about our constitutional monarchy, which is an integral part of our history, traditions, and institutions," said Minister Moore. "I encourage Canadians to check out our Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube channels and visit our website at www.royaltour.gc.ca, which features interesting information about Her Majesty and the Royal Tour, including the itinerary, information about protocol, biographies, frequently asked questions, photographs of the Tour, and more. For the first time ever, we will post daily video clips of The Queen's Tour." Canadians can also send greetings to The Queen and follow the Tour on Twitter at @RoyalTour2010, on Flicker at Tournée royale 2010 - 2010 Royal Tour, and on YouTube at 2010RoyalTour. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness are in Canada until July 6. They are visiting three provinces and five communities on this tour: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Ottawa, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Toronto and Waterloo, Ontario. This is Her Majesty's 22 nd tour of Canada as Queen of Canada.
